Workpaper File Integrity

A practice-first programme for teams who already have a digital workpaper audit app and still lose hours to missing links, muddy indexes, and review notes that reopen twice.

Notebook and laptop prepared for focused study

Modules

Six units. Expect roughly eight to ten hours of guided work plus optional clinics.

  1. Binder archaeology

Score an existing digital file for depth, orphans, and naming drift before you rebuild anything.

  2. Assertion-first indexing

Decide what lives at lead schedule versus supporting pack — with UK examples from inventory, revenue, and payroll.

  3. Evidence linkage under pressure

Attach samples, confirmations, and screenshots so a reviewer never asks “where is the source?” twice.

  4. Tickmarks and open items

Libraries that juniors can apply without inventing new symbols every engagement.

  5. Review replies that close

Language patterns for answering partner and EQCR notes without rewriting whole sections.

  6. Handoff and sign-off discipline

Roll-off packs, sign-off order, and what must be frozen before archive.

Learning outcomes

  • Produce an index a new senior can navigate in under ten minutes
  • Link primary evidence to the correct assertion node consistently
  • Reduce reopenings caused by missing attachments or vague replies
  • Brief juniors with a handoff sheet that survives mid-week rotation
  • Know which problems are tool issues versus methodology choices

Informational fee

Solo Seat for this course is listed at £640. Field Pod and Practice Rollout options bundle the same core with workshops — see pricing. No payment is taken on this website.

FAQ

Do you teach a specific software vendor?

No. Exercises use generic binder structures that map to most digital workpaper audit apps used in the UK. We will not walk through proprietary menus for a single product.

Can juniors join alone?

Yes, though managers get more from the handoff and review-reply modules. Field Pods work best when at least one senior attends.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not set sample sizes, materiality, or risk assessments. If your methodology is unclear, cleaner indexing will still leave judgement gaps visible — and that is intentional. Firms sometimes expect the course to replace methodology training; it will not.

Is there a refund?

Eligibility and timelines are in our Refund Policy.

From learners on this course

“Module three on evidence linkage stopped our habit of parking confirmations in a shared drive folder. Still wish the sample files had more IFRS 15 packs.”

Handoff sheet is now standard on our team. Clinics felt short when questions stacked up.
